diamond advice?

Hello,
I have been agonizing over this so I wanted to ask some opinions. I purchashed a round 1.01 H SI1 faint flourencence GIA cert diamond ring for $5900. It was appraised for $7000. Did I get a good deal?
That was for the whole ring. Tiffany Setting 6 prong. I have seen the ring and it is beautiful. The flourescence makes it look brighter. It is Ex cut, Ex Symetry and Ex Polish.

Did you get it from a jeweler or an online site?

It seems like a good deal. I’m not sure though because of the H color. H is good, but it’s usually less expensive than the D, E & F colors. Was the stone itself $5900 or the whole ring? If it appraised for more, that’s always good, but without knowing about the cut and actually seeing the stone it’s hard to make an assessment. What does it look like with the flourescence? If you’re not sure, take it to a jeweler you trust to get some advice.

The fact that it is GIA certified is great, though. NEVER, EVER buy a diamond w/o GIA certification (this is what I learned when my fiance and I shopped for my ring.)

The guy who said that he got his wife a 2k top color ring for $5000 is full of BS. Either he got swindled (no GIA cert and was totally lied to) or he bought moissanite which is very hard to tell apart from a diamond or he’s just totally deluded. There’s no way.

I’m sure, however, that whether it was a good deal or not, she’ll love it! Congrats on your impending engagement!
