Getting a channel set diamond ring sized?

My husband finally got me my ideal ‘set’ today (He’s in the Navy, we did a quick wedding on a weekend last month and now he’s home on leave).

Anyways, so I always have liked very simple jewelry. I told him nothing ‘blingy’. My engagement ring is a .75c diamond solitaire. I’d of been happy with a regular band, but he picked out a .25c channel set diamond ring. But he got a size 7, as it was the only one they had and it was a good price. But I wear a size 11 ring. Now the channel set part is only the top 1/3rd, the diamonds do not go all the way around.. Will this be a problem? Can a jeweler do this without screwing it up?

I’m worried because it can’t be returned and I’ve really fallen in love with it. I just want to wear it.

Yes, take it to a jeweler who should be able to size it for you. Actually, you’d have a bigger problem if it were an eternity style ring, where the diamonds are set all the way around the ring…those can’t be sized at all.

Actually, you should check with the store/jeweler where he got it. The jeweler I do business with will initially size a ring free of charge.
