What is a good chain for a diamond solitaire necklace?

I am buying my Mom a diamond necklace. The diamond will be about 1 carat and round in shape. The necklace will be in white gold. I cannot decide on the chain but am considering the styles “wheat” and “box” but are open to suggestions. She is 60 so nothing to trendy or crazy. Something classic but sturdy preferably. Thanks!
