18K gold or 14K gold ? Which one is the best to put small diamond ?

I want to put in the middle of simple 4mm white gold comfort fit wedding band 0.15 ct diamond from my grandmother pendant. My questions are :
Should I do it in 14 K or 18 K gold band ?
If Rhodium coating may eventually wear off and need to be re-applied could diamond get damage during process ?

I want to do it in gold.

The higher karat, the softer the gold. If you want it sturdier, put it in the 14K.

As far as the rodium plating goes, if you go to a reputable jeweler, this shouldn’t be a problem at all.

Have you thought about doing it in “gray gold”? It is similar to white, except it is made with palladium (from the platinum family) and doesn’t require rhodium plating. It is a little pricier, but it saves you the hassle of having to get it replated all the time. Only a few places do it, but I’m sure you could find a store if you look hard enough. Good luck!
