Best household cleaners for platinum/diamond engagement ring?

I seem to remember that you can soak the ring in alcohol or white vinegar…..or will these corrode / damage it?

I wouldn’t use anything except a commercial jewelry cleaner specifically safe for platinum and diamonds. I think toothpaste works great, to be honest (rub it into the diamond and band with an old toothbrush). Your diamonds will sparkle.
