Is Blue Topaz Diamond real Diamonds?

Sorry if i sound really dumb but im not really much of a jewellery person and have been given a beautiful ring. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether if inside the box the following ‘Genuine Blue Topaz’ what does that mean in Jewellery terms. Does it mean they are real diamonds that every girl dreems of having? sorry if i sound shallow but im just curious.

Genuine Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December. There are several shades of Blue Topaz.( Swiss, London, Electric, Neptune & more). On the mohs scale that measures the hardness of Gem Stones a Diamond is a 10, and Topaz is around 7.5.
I must point out that there are White Topaz Stones, and can have the color, or fire of a diamond, but this is only because of the way it is cut. They are substituted for real diamonds in 14kt. gold rings, for the sparkle they have.
