Genuine Diamond Wedding

Genuine Diamond Wedding
5 months ago I sold my wedding ring to a guy that found my ad in the classifieds of the local sunday paper, he

wanted me to go to his jeweler so the ring could be evaluated there but I told him that I didnt have the time to be driving oput of my way so he came to my house saw the ring and bought it with no hesitation. Now 5 months later he calls me demanding his money back saying the diamonds are not real. which in fact i know they are since i took my ring to zales and had them check the diamonds with the little machine that they have, and i would think that if his friend is a jeweler he would have gone to him by now to have that checked and i showed him my paper work showing that they are genuine diamonds. either way he knew he was buying a used ring and it was an as is purchase.

now he is demanding his money back and i told him no way because i know the diamonds are real, and how do i know that he didnt have his jeweler friend change the diamonds out.

so basically my question is what do i do? can this guys do anything to me?

Dont worry if you are telling the truth…Your “as is” defense is not viable because if you advertised the ring as authentic (which obviously you did) and he relied on this statement to purchase the ring, you have commited a fraud. However, since 5 months have surpassed without any indication from the buyer until now, he would have to take you to court (probably small claims since he probably doesnt have the means to file a limited civil suit. Either way, you should be in the clear and keep in mind that it is his burden to prove, not yours to disprove…your ok…..
