Glitter!!!?

Okay so if i want to attach loose glitter to these wooden initial letters for my room, what kind of adhesive to I use? Should i just fill in the area with Elmer’s and lay the glitter on top? Or what kind of glue?

Also, is there anything i can spray over it to make it stick better and not fall off?
