The massive 750,000-song music catalog includes the work of the Beatles, Bob Dylan, Neil Diamond, Lady Gaga and the Jonas Brothers. The catalog is reportedly estimated to be worth upwards of $2 billion.”
i don’t get what their talking about in the last paragraph.can you explain to me what exactly this music catolog is that he owned?

Mike, co-owned the company with Sony, the biggest earning songs within this company were a vast range of songs by The Beatles. Paul McCartney and Yoko Ono had attempted to buy these songs back in the 80s but Michael bought them before they could, this led to Mike and Paul not talking to each other again.
The publishing rights to the songs basically meant that Michael received a share of the profits from when the song was sold and also had the right to cover the songs if he wanted to. The most clear example of this was Michael’s cover of Come Together, (by the Beatles) which was on his History album.
