How much does a 2 carat loose diamond cast?

I found a 2 carat loose Diamond perfect round cut just a little scratch on it cause I found it in the street. But other than that it looks brand new. Yes it is real. But does anybody know how much it would cost or what I could sell it for or any websites I could find this info on. Thanks for the help.

Without having a GIA certificate or a GIA diamond grader appraising the color and clarity I can only give you a rough estimate of the wholesale cost of a diamond that size.

My very rough approximation could be from $5,000 to $40,000, again depending on the actual weight of the stone as well as the grade of clarity, color and cut.

I would suggest. however, that you turn it over to the police because I would bet the owner is looking for it and if you try to sell it if it were a certified and/or branded stone, it could be very easy to trace if it is reported as stolen.
