I just went to a website called http://www.play-asia.com and they have way better varieties of video games.?

Why is it that the US never gets the cool stuff? We are always the last to get anything. By the time we get something it’s old in the rest of the world already. This site has the PSP in Pink,and Silver. Also Nintendo DS Lite in Ice Blue,Navy Enamel,Crystal White and Jet Black. We probably have the last two colors but not the first two. Will they ever be released here in the US? Would it be a good idea to buy a Japanese or Asian PSP or DS Lite? What is the difference between a US PSP/DS Lite and a Japanese/Asia PSP/DS Lite?

Why would you want to buy an Asian PSP or DS Lite unless it’s for the colors, but otherwise, if you can read Japanese, then you can use your US PSP or DS Lite to play those Japanese games because PSP and DS games don’t have region codes, so they can be played on any system.

As far the Japanese DS Lite and the American DS Lite, I don’t think there is any difference. The American PSP and Japanese PSP are both region locked, so you can’t play American UMD movies on a Japanese PSP, and you can’t play Japanese UMD movies on an American PSP.

Reason the US don’t get as many good stuff as the Japanese is because most of those developers are based in Japan, so they tend to gear their games towards the Japanese gamers. Japanese gamers also spent the most money so companies that wants to make money tend to make games for the Japanese market. But that trend might be changing. More and more Japanese developers are porting their games over to the US because USA is the 2nd biggest market.
