will I ruin my diamond if I clean it with ammonia?
I have a beautiful 2.5 carat radiant cut diamond engagement ring. ( platimnum setting)
The jeweler said that I could clean it with ammonia and a little water. He said to soak it for 10 minutes and then rinse with water
Will this be ok? I clean it every day. I know I will have to get the rhodium plating redone every year or so to keep it white-shiny.
But do not want to harm the ring or the diamond with ammonia.
(I do not want to clean it with toothpaste. Please do not suggest that. )
my jeweler will clean it for free anytime I want, but it is not convenient for me to go. I like it to sparkle everyday. I need something to do at home.
you can clean it with windex and it works just as well.
