How strong is a clarity enhanced diamond?

I know that clarity enhanced diamonds are weaker than regular diamonds. But how much weaker? I have a desk job and I don’t do a lot of manual labor. I am looking at a 1.75 ct. enhanced round stone that would be in a 10kt. white gold cathedral setting with a tulip basket. What do you think? Will it last me a lifetime?

No problem with the diamond! But I believe that the 10K mount is inappropriate. Both the prongs and the shank will wear out in time, particularly if this will be worn daily. If you do decide on the gold mount, have the prongs checked annually by a good jeweler. My recomandation would be platinum for a stone that size, particilarly if, as you seem to feel that this is a once in a lifetime investment.
