Elegant Diamond Pendant

Okay, so you’ve got this special occasion coming up such as a birthday, anniversary, or Christmas and you want to get the special lady in your life a gift she will absolutely love. What are you going to get her? Your thought to buy Diamond Pendant Jewelry is always an excellent idea.

So you go to the store looking for the ideal necklace. The sales clerk walks you over to the jewelry case and shows you the selection. All of the designs look like great options but the prices range from $99 to over $900.

Question…which one are you going to choose? Which one is going to be the perfect choice based on design, quality, and price? Do you know what the characteristics are of high quality diamonds? How about the precious metal casing the diamonds are housed in? If it comes with a necklace, what makes for the most desirable chain?

These are valid questions. And obviously the answers to those questions not only impact the price you pay for the diamond pendant jewelry but they also play a huge role in the jewelry you choose.

So to help you find the perfect piece of jewelry for your special girl AND your pocket book, here are 3 things you can look for in finding high quality diamond pendant jewelry.

  • Determine diamond quality – first you need to know about the 4 Cs of diamonds. They are cut, color, clarity, and carat weight. The great thing is that you don’t have to be a gemologist to know what to the quality of a diamond is in a piece of diamond pendant jewelry. Simply look for the descriptions of each of the Cs. For example, you want a “good” cut stone. The color is best when graded as D-F and diminishes in quality from there. A best quality clarity grade is F. That level decreases with an IF, VVS1, VVS2, and so on. For diamond pendant jewelry, a grade of I1, I2, and I3 still works well since flaws are not easily seen. And carat weight is based on your preference for diamond size. Understanding that one carat is a pretty good sized rock, .20 carats and above are notable sizes as well.
  • Precious metal encasing the gemstones — themost common precious metals are gold, silver, and platinum. All three in their purest state are soft metals for practical use and are mixed with other metals to add strength and allow for easier shaping for jewelry design. The grades of these metals are based on their part of the whole metal content using a 1,000 point scale. For gold, 24k equals 100%. From there 18k equals 75%, 14k equals 58%, and so on. Pure platinum is 950 parts per 1,000. The grade reduces as the parts decrease. And pure silver requires a minimum of 925 parts per thousand of the jewelry content. As I’m sure you know, the price of the metal will decrease as the grade decreases. Of the three metals, platinum is naturally the most expensive.
  • Necklace quality features — for the necklace you simply want to make sure that the design or cut of the chain is complimentary to the diamond pendant. Make sure the metal type and grade of the chain is the same as the metal type and grade of the pendant. The length of the chain should be considered for display of the pendant as well. And the clasp on the chain is important too with the lobster claw being a fan favorite.

With these three thoughts in mind, you are sure to choose the perfect diamond pendant jewelry for the woman you love. And you can make the decision knowing you got the best quality for the money you spent.

Here is an option for diamond pendant jewelry that many women have found to be elegant, classy, and very affordable. Plus, its design and quality represents today’s fashion taste. white gold art deco ring with no hallmarks??(expensive)?

hi, my sister has just bought a white gold, old art deco ring, (with small diamonds and a small sapphire).. she got it from a exclusive jewellers, (she had just got a inheritance, and she choose this ring as a keepsake) she paid a LOT of money for it!!
my concern is that there is not any hallmarks on it, but I thought by law there had to be hallmarks, was this law in place in the art deco period? (1915-1935- ish) she does have a valuation certificate, but am i just being overly suspicious??.. she can’t afford to be ripped off for that kind of money..
I have (tentatively) advised her she needs to get it independently valued, (insurance purposes) but can anyone put my mind at rest please?
thanks x

There are a few reasons it may not have a mark:
it could have worn away
the ring could have been made smaller and sometimes not brilliant repairs can obliterate the mark
Are you sure its white gold? Platinum (more valuable) would have been a popular choice for the Deco period. Platinum would not have been hallmarked at that time, not until 1975 (UK)
It may have been made abroad and although it should have been hallmarked if imported it may have been bought by a person not a jeweller ad entered the country that way
(Always remember that reselling jewellery never gets half the shop price )
If she loves it, try and love it too, it will make her happy

Glitter tattoos?

I thought that i saw somewhere a picture of a butterfly tattoo that had a little sparkle to it? can you get tattooed in glitter to make it shimmer all the time? this would be so awesome. ive always wanted a tattoo but never really knew what to get but if you can get a glitter tattoo then im in for it cuz i want to sparkle all the time. let me know.

I wanted to get a gold and shimmery purple tattoo but when I asked the artist, he explained that you cannot get any color that is glittery or shimmery because the colors need light to make them shine. Since the ink is under your skin, it is virtually impossible for the light to hit it.

Why is it that some beaches have murky waters and others have beautiful, crystal-clear waters?

OK, so this may sound like a silly question, but I need to know. Why is it that some beaches have calm, crystal-clear waters and others don’t? I mean, you take a beach on the Atlantic Coast and the water is a dark, murky brownish-green color, and of course, there are the waves.. Then you take a beach in the Virgin Islands and it’s crystal clear, very blue, and the waters are pretty calm. I’m assuming it has something to do with the movement of the water, but I’m not sure. Could someone elaborate on this for me? Thanks.

Water’s in the Caribbean (and warmer climates in general) are basically “dead”. Water in more temperate climates have a lot of plant life. The chlorophyll is what causes the greenish tinge.

Anyone know a good source for rhinestone jewlery supplies?

I make beaded jewlery already, but I’d like to branch into the showier rhinestone stuff & design for a few of my friends who are ‘larger-than-life’ stage performers. I need a source for loose stones & the setting cups, clasps, forms…all that sort of thing. Eventually, I’d like to build the pageant crown I designed.

The Beadazzler. It’s AWESOME! They sell it @ Rite Aid. I’ve seen it there.

If you’re experienced in making swarovski crystal phone cases, read please me!?

want to start making swarovski crystal and rhinestone phone cases.
Does anybody know where to get good prices on swarovski crystal?
Can you buy them in-stores anywhere, like an arts & crafts store?
How many do you need to cover your standard phone case?
& anymore details if you want to fill me in, that would be awesome!
Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Completely covering a cell phone case with swarovski crystals is pretty expensive. There is no such thing as cheap swarovski crystals.
That said, you can buy them at local bead or craft stores like Hobby Lobby or Michael’s. Exactly how many you need will be determined by the size and construction of the case.

What is the best way to remove glitter nail polish?

Regular nail polish come off easy with cotten ball and remover but the glitter is a lot harder to get off. Is there any easier way?

I would use pure acetone and a large cotton ball. Soak the cotton and press on nail and do as usual. It works for me.
