How much carat weight it a two point princess cut diamond?

I am wanting to know how much is a 2 point princess cut diamond in carat weight because I am wanting to buy a pendent with 348 of these on it. They are genuine diamonds and it also has like a 3 point princess cut on the top of the bell. It weighs 1 once and is 14k gold. The price is at $2200.

Diamond have standard measure for weight in carats, and one cart equals to 1/142nd of an ounce, or 1/5th of a gram, which means that there are 5 carats in one gram. However some jewelers like to use the word “point” when describing diamond size. Diamond point is also the measure for diamond weight and is related to carats. One carat is divided into 100 points, which means that 50 point diamond weighs half of carat.

About diamond testing nature or nonsense ?

I have a therory, regarding natural rough uncut diamonds .I believe they can be tested by using the sun . If you hold a diamond up and look inside the center of the sun at the hotest part ,of a cloudless summer day without being blinded it is a diamond.Remember (uncut). Due to the fact its refractive index is so high compared to all other gems while uncut it absorbs the direct rays of the sun sheltering your sight.

For heaven’s sake DO NOT DO THIS – it is the fastest track to BLINDING YOURSELF that you can follow, it is playing Russian Roulette with a gun that has six bullets in the chamber and none empty. A high refractive index has NOTHING to do with absorbing light WHATSOEVER, it merely indicates the degree to which light is bent while passing through the medium. In addition to this diamond is cubic and therefor singly refractive so it does not even absorb part of the radiation like many other stones.
It is true that with properly proportioned cut diamonds no light passes through the stone when viewed from the front through to the back due to its being totally reflected internally – this can also be achieved with other stones but the required cutting proportions are too deep to be practical. In the case of an uncut diamond you do not even have the minimal protection of it having having facets to internally reflect the sun’s light so it will go straight through and do permanent damage to your retina.
Once again please, please, for your own sake do not try this out. Excuse all the Caps. but this is a VERY IMPORTANT SAFETY MATTER.

Is Blue Topaz Diamond real Diamonds?

Sorry if i sound really dumb but im not really much of a jewellery person and have been given a beautiful ring. I was just wondering if anyone knows whether if inside the box the following ‘Genuine Blue Topaz’ what does that mean in Jewellery terms. Does it mean they are real diamonds that every girl dreems of having? sorry if i sound shallow but im just curious.

Genuine Blue Topaz is the birthstone for December. There are several shades of Blue Topaz.( Swiss, London, Electric, Neptune & more). On the mohs scale that measures the hardness of Gem Stones a Diamond is a 10, and Topaz is around 7.5.
I must point out that there are White Topaz Stones, and can have the color, or fire of a diamond, but this is only because of the way it is cut. They are substituted for real diamonds in 14kt. gold rings, for the sparkle they have.

You are not going to find one cheap. Here is one web source: http://roughdiamondworld.com/ another, that is cheaper, is for the stones found in Arkansas Crater of Diamonds State Park: http://www.diamondsinar.com/ Hope they help.

They say they are ‘forever’ and, other than the sentiment supposedly attached from the bearer, ‘they’ are right in an elemental sense. Diamonds are the hardest substance known to man. On the Moh hardness scale (mineral quality scale used for identification and differentiation of minerals) it rates a perfect 10. The atoms of diamond are arranged tighter than in any other substance, giving the gem its hardness. A diamond can only be abraded by another diamond of higher hardness and diamonds are used to polish other diamonds.

The melting point of diamond is 3,820 degrees Kelvin, making it the highest melting point of any substance. Diamonds are tetrahedrally bonded pure Carbon atoms; they are terrific heat conductors and have a high dispersion of light making them ideal for industrial applications as well as jewelry. This ‘fire’ and hardness are considered the ideal reasons why diamonds are so typically interpreted as wedding or engagement rings due to their durability for everyday wear.

Diamonds are not particularly rare, although advertising campaigns and big diamond companies would have the public believing otherwise. There is a great deal of controversy surrounding the mining, sale and market value of natural diamonds. Approximately 50% of the world’s diamonds come from central and southern Africa with much of the sales of the gem being handled by paramilitary groups and are sometimes dubbed ‘conflict diamonds’ or ‘blood diamonds’ because of the tragic deaths which occur through the mining, sales and transport of these diamonds. Other areas in the world where diamond mines are prevalent are Canada, India, Russia, Australia and Brazil.

Diamonds have been brought to the surface of the earth from deep within the earth where extreme pressure systems and extremely high temperatures caused their original formation. Volcanic eruptions from 1,100 million -20 million years ago carried the diamonds through Kimberlite pipes to the surface of the earth. These pipelines were formed as magma flowed through intense ruptures in the earth. When these explosions occurred, the magma thrust the diamonds through the pipes, bringing them and other minerals rapidly through the mantle and crust without disturbing their structure by pressure or heat. There are some diamonds found on the earth today that are dated as old as one billion years.

Natural, uncut diamond crystals are formed in isometric cubes and octahedrons (8-sided prisms). Diamonds are rated as having high value by color, high refraction, fire (high dispersion), rarity and extremely low reactivity to chemicals. Diamonds can come in many colors including, yellow, brown, blue, green, black, pink, orange, red, purple and violet. The closer the diamond comes to perfect translucence and no additional hues, the higher in value it becomes.

A diamond of a pink or blue hue is also rated as quite valuable due to the rarity of these gemstones and the more intense the color, the higher the diamond is valued. The Hope Diamond, one of the largest diamonds in the world at 45.52 carats, is now housed in the Smithsonian Natural History Museum with an estimated value of $250 million dollars. Diamonds are judged by carat, clarity, color and cut- the ‘four C’s’ of Diamonds—and are valued and rated by these characteristics.

Is there an interest out there for NICE engagement rings for under $1500?

Hi All,

I am doing a little research for my yahoo hosted website.

I was just wondering if there is a genuine interest out there for NICE genuine diamond engagement rings for under $1500.

I know many people are living within the restrains of a tight budget these days, so I was thinking this would be a great section to expand on my website.

Please let me know what you think, I would love to hear your feedback. I have included a sample image.

Oh there is absolutely an interest. I think lots of people are looking for something simple yet elegant. You’d need to make sure that the diamonds were somehow certified. I don’t know how many people would want to make a final decision without seeing the ring first.
