Diamond Solitare Ring

There are no better rings to seal your engagement than diamond solitaire rings. The ultimate in diamond rings, diamond solitaire rings are the only ring for the woman who wants the best in wedding jewelry.

What is a diamond solitaire ring? Simple. A diamond solitaire ring is a ring with one diamond. ThatÂ’s all. Just one diamond. Nothing else to distract from that one magnificent stone.

Why are diamond solitaire engagement rings the best engagement rings? Well firstly because they are a diamond ring. Diamonds are the best of all jewelry stones available to the serious jewelry buyer. And there are a lot of other stones out there. All sorts of colored stones, diamond copies, diamond simulants and so on. Most of them beautiful stones.

But none of them are diamonds.

Why are there so many diamond copies, man made diamonds? Because diamonds are the best, and it is the best that is copied.

Your engagement ring is one of the most important buying decisions you will ever make. Think about it. What else can you buy that will be with you for life?

Your house? No, not really, most people keep a house for a few years and then move on. Your car? Never!

Is there anything? I canÂ’t think of anything that is more enduring than a diamond solitaire engagement ring. Nothing else that goes through life with you. So if itÂ’s that important then get a good one. Once youÂ’ve got it then itÂ’s too late to change your mind.

And why diamonds? Why not some other type of beautiful jewelry stone?

Diamonds represent the ultimate. The best. There is no better jewelry stone than a diamond, and no more expensive. By buying a diamond you’re saying “only the best for us”. You’re making a commitment that you are prepared to spend some serious money on the one most important and enduring purchase you will ever make. Your diamond solitaire ring.

And why a solitaire ring? There are lots of beautiful rings with diamonds.

Thousands of styles, a whole world of choices. Why choose a diamond solitaire ring?

Just because thatÂ’s what it is. A solitaire. You are getting the biggest diamond for your money. One that stands out. One that people will admire.

There are some beautiful three stone diamond rings. Magnificent rings. But not solitaires. Three small diamonds just donÂ’t cut it like one large one.

Diamond engagement rings have a long and proud tradition. The giving of a diamond engagement ring to a woman as a symbol of a promise to marry began in 1477 with the engagement of Archduke Maximillian of Austria and Mary of Burgundy. The Archduke selected a diamond engagement ring and his decision has been copied ever since.

It was even said then that cupids arrows were tipped with diamonds which imbued the couple with the magic of love.

Diamond solitaire rings encapsulate that magic of love.

Diamond engagement rings have a symbolism from centuries past. They are the ultimate in engagement rings. And diamond solitaire rings are the ultimate in diamond engagement rings.

How much can i expect at a pawn shop for my solitaire, gold, diamond ring?

I have a 14 karat gold diamond ring. The diamond is real, i’ve had i checked, but the ring is meaningless to me. I could really use the cash. Does anyone have anny idea how much i could get for it in a pawn shop? The diamond is 1 karat, maybe a little more.

The value of the diamond will depend on the quality of it. If you have a certificate then it will state the color, clarity, polish, cut, etc. If you don’t have a certificate you can always ask the jeweler where you bought it from. If you can’t then you can take it to a jeweler and ask them to appraise for you. Some jewelers may charge for this service so you should ask first. Once you know the quality then you can get an idea on the retail value of it.

Pawn shops known to offer one tenth of the actual value so be careful before you go there. Sometimes the best way to cash your jewelry is to sell it to your friends or co-workers or even on eBay.

Gold value will depend on the weight per gram or pennyweight. Usually a 14K ring will worth about $5 to $10 a gram at a pawn shop.

Can I wear a solitaire necklace with chandelier earings?

It’s for my wedding. My mom is having the diamond from her first wedding ring made into a necklace for me, and I’d like a simple solitaire so that i can wear it all the time… but stud earings would be too plain with my hair up and everything. Would it look funny is i were to wear big earrings?

My other option is to have the necklace made into a tiffany-style like this: http://www.evesaddiction.com/nlz10119.html
But, all the other stones would have to be CZ and then simple 3 stone drop earings (also CZ).

So… Should I go with simple on the necklace and get more extravagant earings?

Heres my dress: http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c367/aanule/Weddingdresses008.jpg

And my hair is going to be up…
Maybe some earings like this?

http://www.evesaddiction.com/erz10270.html

Or these…

http://www.evesaddiction.com/erz10294.html

Since I am one of those people who likes to do “fashionable” things to suit myself and not others, I would say go ahead with the simple solitaire and wear chandelier earrings if you want. It sounds beautiful, and you will be more likely to wear the simple solitaire again for other occasions as well.

I did check out different settings, and the Bezel looked very nice, and more resilient too, which as a Mommy to 4 with another on the way, I can assure you, resiliency is important for anything that is special to you. I imagine something like your mother’s diamond would hold some sentiment for you.

The neckline and waist of your dress are well embellished and I think to over do the necklace might come off as a little gaudy, which I don’t think is your style considering the apparent elegant simplicity of the dress design (what I can see of it) and your taste in jewelry to go with it.

Keep in mind that diamonds and cubic zarconia have a different sparkle to them. It may be hard to “match” them “perfectly” anyway. If you can, try them on together to see which look and FEEL best to you. That is most likely the best way to know for sure if you can pull it off. If you aren’t comfortable with it, it probably won’t work, and studded earings could look just as nice with a pretty up-do.

I hope this helps you.

Where can I find a wedding band to fit up against my heart shaped diamond ring?

My ring is a heart shaped solitaire with a wrap around it. I’m trying to find a wedding band that will fit up against the bottom of the heart.

Most good jewelers will make custom jewelry. Something like a simple band to fit an engagement ring should be easy for them to do. If that option seems a bit too expensive go to a mall jewerly store like Kay’s and see what options they have for wedding bands to go with their rings. If they sell heart diamond rings they will carry a band to go with it. Just make sure you get the same metal for the band as the ring. While the color may look the same now 25 years down the line the colors will age differently. A small detail in the long run but if you know about it now you can avoid it. Good luck with the marriage hopefully the rings will still be on your fingers in 50 years.

For both casual and formal occasions, this is definitely a winner. If you want something you can wear at any moment, then a diamond solitaire necklace is the best choice. It is a piece that looks great on any woman, and it is sure to turn heads. While you get simplicity, you also get sheer beauty and timeless elegance from a diamond solitaire necklace.

If you are looking forward to buy a diamond solitaire necklace, diamond pendant necklace, or any similar piece of jewelry, you might want to learn more about what you are trying to buy before you spend your money on any jewelry piece. It pays to be extra cautious when shopping for diamonds, since they are expensive items.

The Four Cs

There is this thing that most diamond connoisseurs call the four Cs of diamonds: cut, clarity, color, and carat. When it comes to diamonds, the issue will always be about any or all of those four factors in diamond quality and value. Since diamonds are aesthetic objects, these four factors count a lot. All of these four factors are equally crucial to the quality of a diamond.

The cut is how the diamond was cut from its initial rough form. Distinct cuts give diamonds different appearances in terms of how they reflect light and how aesthetically pleasing they are. Most people agree that cut is the most important of the four Cs.

Clarity refers to how clear a diamond is from the inside out. Most diamonds have flaws in them, which may be visible if you look at the diamonds carefully. The more clarity a diamond has, the more brilliant a diamond is.

Furthermore, important is the color of the diamond, which touches upon different aesthetic tastes among people. Despite clear diamonds being the most popular, some prefer light shades of pink, yellow, and other such colors in their diamonds.

Last, but not the least, there is the carat weight. This determines the value of the diamond as bigger and heavier diamonds definitely command higher prices.

Looking for a good diamond solitaire necklace is much easier and even more fun if you do transactions with a trustworthy company with a good reputation for both quality and service. Such companies are usually the best sources for shopping for a diamond solitaire necklace. Of course, there are other shops as well.

Always verify the diamond you choose before you actually purchase it. Your diamond solitaire necklace must come with a certificate of authenticity. That certificate states the exact dimensions of the diamond right down to the finest detail in terms of cut and quality. This is your assurance that you really did get the best diamond solitaire necklace you can put your money on.

Are 1/5 CT. Diamond Solitaire Stud Earrings a good size diamond earring?

I want to get my girlfriend diamond earrings for Christmas, is 1/5 ct a standard size or is that too small?

Thanks!

<3 What would be a good size?

Buy what you can afford. For ladies, the bigger the better, usually, but don’t go into big debt over diamonds for a girlfriend.

My college room mate and I had an expression when we saw our other male friends buying diamonds for their girlfriends…We said, “Yeah…I’ve already bought my diamonds”, as in that most guys have to do it just once in their lives before they realize what idiots they were because the truth is, most relationships break up for one reason or another. I am not saying that YOUR relationship is going to break up. You may be thinking on marrying her and I wish you the best of luck.

I bought my wife a beautiful 2 carot diamond engagement band in a fishtail platinum gold setting, adorned by four other 1/4 carot diamonds (total gem weight, 3 carrots). This I made up specially via a jeweler in the diamond district of New York that I had flown in to visit, just for this occasion. I was having something made up to match the wedding band I inherited from my mother which was the same setting, but with five equal size 1/4 carot diamonds. So total gem weight on her hand was 4.25 carots and she was so proud to show them off in her work behind the counter at a department store, selling cosmetics. People would look at her hand and ask with envy, “Did Zales spit up on you or what?” and she took great delight in that attention.

Well anyway, we were married for 10 years, separated, and imagine my shock to discover the engagement band I made specially for her, now with the 2 carot diamond wrestled out of it’s setting by obviously, a jewelers tool of some kind. She was dating a pawn shop jeweler at the time (yes when we were still married), and pawned the diamond I bought her to pay the retainer on the incredibly expensive divorce attorney she hired ($450 per hour) which I ended up having to pay half for in the divorce, thus extinguishing the children’s college education fund and our retirement nest egg.

Long story short, don’t go into heavy debt buying your diamonds. Love can be fickle which is why Marilyn Monroe struck a universal chord when she sang the song, “Diamonds are a Girl’s Best Friend!”. Watch the video if you haven’t seen that scene. It might help you from getting blinded by bigger diamonds.

An alexandrite wedding band may be designed to include one or many alexandrite stones. Set in white gold, yellow gold, platinum, or sterling silver, an alexandrite wedding band may come in different kinds like the solitaire, three-stone, five-stone, and diamond. Alexandrite stones are chrysoberyl varieties found commonly in Russia, Brazil, Myanmar, and Madagascar. They are stones that change color depending on the angle.

Your options

A solitaire alexandrite wedding band has a single alexandrite stone styled in a prong setting, with the stone cut to round, square, oval, or marquise. A three-stone alexandrite band, on the other hand, has three alexandrite stones lined up horizontally. It depends on the design but other precious stones may be used as well. As the name implies, five-stone alexandrite bands have five stones, also arranged horizontally, with precious stones also used to make the wedding band fancier. As for diamond alexandrite bands, one or several alexandrite stones may be used in the overall design, along with diamond stones set in a specific pattern.

Why buy alexandrite?

Alexandrite is believed to relieve a number of ailments, including spleen or pancreatic problems. If you or anyone you know is suffering from those conditions, then alexandrite is a good option. Not to mention that alexandrite also does wonders for self-esteem. If you’re thinking of giving alexandrite as a gift, give it to someone who’s a Gemini as this is his birthstone. Alexandrite is also the anniversary stone for 45th and 55th wedding anniversaries so they also make excellent gifts to wives to celebrate the occasion. If not for the benefits, alexandrite remains to be a very attractive stone because of the way it changes color so it will make for a very beautiful gift for anybody, regardless of the occasion.

The spectrum of colors is as big as your imagination. Choosing whatÂ’s right for you can be overwhelming in todayÂ’s diamond market. This article will address a few important factors to consider when buying a fancy colored diamond for yourself or a loved one. Most important is knowing the differences between colored diamonds that are formed naturally and ones that are man-made.

Natural Fancy Colored Diamonds

Diamonds colored naturally are very rare and fetch very high prices. There are three ways in which colored diamonds are formed by nature. The first method is when a foreign element is introduced to the carbon material that a diamond is made from. For example, nitrogen can cause a diamond to have yellow or orange hues while boron can make it blue. The second method is when pressure compresses the carbon and creates a red, pink or purple hue. Lastly, natural radiation deep in the earth generates diamonds with colors of green or blue. Green, red and purple diamonds are considered very rare and command high prices. Indeed, there are only six naturally formed red diamonds currently in the market. One can only imagine the prices these stones will fetch. Natural fancy colored diamonds are so rare that there exist at least 10,000 colorless stones for each colored stone.

Synthetic or Treated Fancy Colored Diamonds

Fancy colored diamonds can also be man-made in labs. There are a variety of methods used to color diamonds. Some of these stones are purely synthetic, meaning they were totally created in a lab to simulate the properties of a real diamond. They are formed from carbon just like the real thing. However, these stones can be formed in a matter of weeks where as it takes thousands of years for natural diamonds to be formed. These type of synthetic diamonds are so similar to the real thing that only high tech equipment can detect subtle differences in the crystal formations within the stone to know they are fake.

Another man-made method to produce fancy colored diamonds involves irradiating a natural diamond that possesses an unattractive color. Irradiation is a process in which a diamond is exposed to a source of radiation that changes the position of atoms within the stone thus causing its color to change.

Treated or synthetic diamonds may look very appealing to the consumer because of the price and uniformity of color; however, these diamonds have no value to the serious buyer and have little resale value. Therefore, if you are purchasing a colored diamond for investment it is vital to obtain certification from the diamond seller. The certificate should come from a reputable laboratory and contain the origin of the stone and the natural origin of the stoneÂ’s color.

Diamond Certification and the Four CÂ’s of Diamond Buying

Grading colored diamonds presents another set of unique issues for the buyer. Colorless diamonds are graded on the four CÂ’s: Cut, Carat, Clarity and Color. Colored diamonds are also valued based upon the four CÂ’s but another factor weighs most heavily on the value of a fancy colored diamond. This factor is based upon the hue and rarity of the color. Indeed a rare fancy color will garner a much higher price than a colorless diamond of many more carats. Colored diamonds have three characteristics by which they are graded. These are hue, tone and saturation. Hue refers to the dominant color of the stone, tone refers to the light within the stone and saturation refers to the intensity of the hue. Be sure to look for these factors on the diamond certificate.

Having knowledge about the differences between natural and synthetic colored diamonds will help you to choose the diamond thatÂ’s right for you. One thing is certain, in todayÂ’s marketplace jewelry designers are using fancy colored diamonds to create beautiful and unique designs that consumers want to own.
