Vintage engagement ring inscription?
My fiance’s mom gave us her mothers engagement ring, probably from the 50′s. It is whitegold, with either a 1/2 carot-1 carot diamond in the middle, with 3 smaller ones set in the sides. I was looking at the inside of it, and it looks like the jeweler (we don’t know where it came from) put something in it. It says P (or F) 1900 then it looks like either a circle or parantheses with a diamond shape inside. Does anyone know what this means?

Ok, now I am thinking that it is actually Pt900 (for platinum) because there is no 14k etc on the inside. What does the diamond circle-y thing mean? Is there anyway for us to track down where this ring was made?
