Carat Black Diamond

Carat Black Diamond
how much is a 14 carat black diamond worth and where do you bring it?

It depends on how it’s cut. Colored diamonds cost more than whites(clear). But because it is colored you got to see that it is consistent through out to get the most value out of it. Also if it is loose or if it is mounted and how it was mounted may determine its value. If it is a new diamond, see if it has been registered, a new registered diamond will attain it highest value vs one of the same carat or higher that has not been registered.

If the stone is loose take it to any jeweler and just make sure they do al the work in front of you.

There is much wise in these words. That is exactly what life and love are about. And this new Stand By Me collection by Louis Vuitton design house is to tell the story of true love.

Among all the 65 rings and 28 necklaces, you can definitely choose one to suit your mind for your loved one. As to the ring, they are in various designs, such as that of the large fleur ring, the rectangular fleur ring, the emprise diamond ring, the monogram ring, the louisette ring, the gracious graphic ring and so on. Does a Swarovski or Rhinestone collar really make your dog or cat be more “prissy?”?

It sure seems to.. Just like when they come home from the beauty shop it is as though they know they look better. Do you think they can feel your adoring energy and respond to that? I know they are so sensitive they can feel you are in the neighborhood as many studies have shown. My cat HAS to have a crystal collar on or she drives me nuts! Funniest thing is I think she thinks it makes her pretty or am I crazy here?

if you like it…she┬┤ll like it 2….

If you’re in the market for a pendant or necklace, there are almost infinite varieties, shapes, and sizes to choose from. Whether it’s a circle of life diamond pendant or black pearl necklace, they are a great treat or gift to give on birthdays and holidays. Here are the top five choices people are making for necklaces and pendants.

· A sterling silver ID pendant that displays the recipient’s name in a readable script is popular. There are three Austrian crystals just below the name that match the birth stone color. It hangs on a neat diamond rolo chain.

· Once again, Austrian crystals adorn this gorgeous Heart’s Birthstone Necklace, complete with a dangling 10-inch chain that has interspersed spacer beads.

· Angel Birthstone Charms are a top-selling item and you have a choice again of Austrian crystal birthstone colors. Complete with 14-K gold plating, or you can add your own gold necklace chain, if you wish.

· The Sterling Silver Mother’s Birthstone Charm Pendant is popular and is meant, of course, for moms and grandmothers. It has an asymmetrical sterling heart, which makes a great gift for a loved one, personalized with their birthstone color. It comes complete with a 20-inch sterling silver chain.

· And finally the Birthstone Baby Bootie Charm is a wonderful necklace and is also a good choice for mothers or grandmothers who want to commemorate their children’s birth month in a unique way. A single gem sits in the opening of the shoe and the charm dangles by itself on a chain.

The floating heart diamond necklace is also immensely popular and is absolutely gorgeous! It comes with a stunning chain that adjusts from 16 to 18 inches and has a very sturdy lobster-claw clasp. The pendant is 1 ¼ inches by 1 ¼ inches and is a very thick piece. This is not a flimsy or cheap piece and is sold at auctions regularly. It is heavily layered in Rhodium to give you many years of carefree wear. A circle of life diamond pendant is the number-one selling pendant and comes complete with a two-carat diamond circle. It looks extremely elegant for almost any occasion. If you love to collect jewelry, it is a must-have item. The circle of diamonds consists of 25, round, cut stones totaling two carats and comes on an 18-inch chain.

Another fantastic piece of jewelry is the black pearl necklace. The Tahitian, black pearl necklace is commonly seen in shades of black and gray. Although it does have a black body color, it will vary in its overtones, which are sometimes green or pink. This popular necklace goes well with fair or light colored skin as the pink overtones blend well. Women with dark skin are those who will more easily find the cream or black overtones look best. The majority of black pearls for making a black pearl necklace come from French Polynesia. The French Polynesian government has set a minimum nacre thickness at 0.8 millimeters.

Anything less than that is not allowed to be sold on the market. Nacre is the crystalline, calcium substance that is secreted by the mollusk. It is a defense against foreign article intrusion into its body, and this is the shiny part of the pearl. The Tahitian black pearl necklace doesn’t come cheap and you’re going to end up paying a lot for this stunning piece of jewelry. Of course, only you know what you like best and even though I’ve listed the top five selling necklaces and pendants, it all boils down to your own personal choice. Whether it’s a circle of life diamond pendant or floating heart diamond necklace, jewelry will make you feel elegant and beautiful!

What is uncoated swarovski crystal?

I’m planning on buying some swarovski crystals for card making and some sites are offering uncoated crystals. What is uncoated? is it less sparkly or is it just a cheaper version?

The uncoated ones do not have the multi-colored sheen that some of the crystals give off, they are just the true color

Green amethyst engagement ring?

Would it be weird to get an engagement ring with a green amethyst gemstone in it? I have always really liked the stone and have found several rings I like. I guess I kinda don’t want to go with the traditional. Will people think that it’s not an engagement ring? Thanks so much!

Here are a couple of examples of what I like. I may not get these exact ones, but they are my style.

Add: What exactly is a cocktail ring? I have been wondering this.

If you want color, go for color!!!

One thing I will warn you of is that Amethyst is a soft stone. On the Mohs hardness scale, it scores a 7 (diamond is 10, sapphire is 9). Any stone that scores below an 8 is generally considered too soft for normal day to day wear. If you’re tough on your rings, the stone could break and it wouldn’t take an especially hard hit to chip a green amethyst.

I will also warn you that amethyst, especially green amethyst, is a very inexpensive stone… for those rings you linked, you’re paying for the setting, as the stone is probably not worth more than $10-20 and these stones are not very saturated (they aren’t strong in tone, which is generally what adds value to a stone). I’d also question the cut quality of these stones. You might want to look into green sapphires or tsavorite garnets if you like green. I’m posting a few links to excellent sites that carry high quality colored stones:

http://www.whitesgems.com

http://www.finewatergems.com

http://www.wildfishgems.com

http://www.thenaturalsapphirecompany.com

http://www.customgemstones.com

http://www.precisiongem.com/

As you will see from some of these sites, certain top quality colored stones sell for much more than diamonds. An excellent quality colored stone is much more rare, therefore much more valuable than your standard colorless diamond.

Edit – I also wanted to let you know that there are a lot of creepy treatments done to colored stones…. there are also tons of fakes out there, especially on Ebay. Please read this article about gem treatment before you buy and make sure you know what you’re getting: http://www.wildfishgems.com/treatment

Watches have evolved over the centuries and become almost a necessity. There are many types of watches all with different functions. If you are looking for a watch there are a few things to keep in mind. Your budget is important here. The amount you can spend on a watch will dictate what type of watch and what features or functions you will be able to have. Watches can range in price from $2.00 or $3.00 all the way up to thousands of dollars and more.

An analog watch is a watch that has hands. There may be a second hand or not. The second hand moves in continuous sweeping motion. Some second hands will move in two second intervals to indicate the batteries need to be replaced. Digital watches have the time displayed in numerals. Digital watches are very popular.

An LCD watch uses liquid crystal display to show the time. The numbers are usually gray or black on a lighter background. An LED watch uses a diode that emanates light. There is usually a button to push to display the time. The numbers in the display are red in color.

A quartz watch is very popular in the market place today as well and it runs on batteries. A tiny quartz crystal in the watch vibrates at a very stable frequency. This keeps the time instead of the traditional mechanical movement.

Other watches include a mechanical watch. It operates with the movement of a set of gears. A spring inside the watch is wound to power the gears. A jewel watch uses gems such as rubies at points of friction inside the movement.

A diving watch is water resistant through a depth of between fifty to one hundred meters and it is marked on the dial. Instead of the usual push/pull crown, a diving watch has a screw down crown. This creates a better water tight seal. The band is made of rubber or similar material because the salt water wonÂ’t cause deterioration.

Functions on watches include calendars, time zones, stop watches, and alarms. Many have the option of being set to standard or military time. Still others have indigo lights that when a button is pressed will light up and make the numbers more visible. This is especially good in a hospital or nursing home setting where you need the light to read the second hand while checking pulses. There are some watches that have removable face plates so that you can have your watch match what you are wearing. The shape of a watch can be almost any shape as well such a round or rectangular. There are ring watches and pendant watches. Pocket watches are making a come back as well.

The bands on watches are as varied in material and design as the watches themselves. There are metal bands that stretch, there are bands made of material similar to the straps on backpacks and that fasten with Velcro. There are bands of cloth, hemp, metal links and bands that come in one or two pieces.

Pink Tourmaline Diamond

Pink Tourmaline Diamond
What is your favorite gemstone that isn’t a diamond, ruby, emerald or sapphire?

Mine is iolite because it’s pleochroic and nobody is ever sure what it is and it seems to “change colors. I also love pink tourmaline.

My favorite is opal b/c it is my birthstone & I love the play of colors. Opal is amorphous in that it doesn’t have crystals but instead has water inside it’s structure. That is what gives it that fiery range of colors.

I love moonstone which is the mineral feldspar that has been cut & polished. Pictured here:

http://www.samsilverhawk.com/silver/moonstone.jpg

Purple, rose & smokey quartz are all the same, SiO2 that comes in different colors. I like them all. By the way, most people don’t know that amethyst is purple quartz!

If you have ever seen rutilated quartz, it is awesome as well. It has the mineral rutile which looks like tiny needles inside the quartz. It makes for some interesting jewelry. See for yourself:

Any jewelery store may be able to help you. Just go in and tell them what you are looking for. They could probably tell you if they could do that and how much it will cost.

Should I purchase this Diamond Ring on Ebay?

Specifics – Diamond Solitaire Rings
Stone Shape: Round Certification/Grading: —

Carat Total Weight (Range): 1/2 ctw (0.46 – 0.69) Metal Purity: 14k
Exact Carat Total Weight: — Ring Size: 6.75
Clarity: I1 – I3 Condition: Used
Color: H

This 1/2 carat round diamond is singularly brilliant in a band of 14K white gold. The round diamond is near colorless and securely prong-set. It was purchased from Kay Jewelers for $999.99 and was only worn for two months. It is in very good condition and has no visible flaws. It comes with the black velvet box.

I wouldn’t buy it.

I1-I3 means that the ring has inclusions that are visible to the naked eye. Any clarity below VVS2 is crap, basically.

Color H means “near colorless” (G, H, I, J). The colorless ones are D, E and F. The closer to colorless, the better the stone will reflect light and sparkle (depending on the cut as well).

Forget about the carat weight. What matters when you buy a diamond is clarity, cut, color. The mall shops (Kay etc) do generally not sell high quality diamonds… and I’d never, ever buy from someone on e-bay. That’s like asking for trouble.
